The Lancaster Land Trust is commemorating its 24th anniversary! The organization originated from a group of residents who convened in a living room to express their worries about uncontrolled expansion pressures and environmental hazards threatening the treasures of the Nashua River valley. The collective consensus was that Lancaster would benefit from a Land Trust aimed at maintaining the quality of life in the town, ensuring it remained "everything a small New England town should be."
Seventeen years later, we reflect on the accomplishments of the Trust with both satisfaction and unease. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, we have actively preserved open spaces for everyone's enjoyment and partnered with organizations to safeguard Lancaster's rich land. Additionally, the Trust has enhanced the quality of life in the town through educational, recreational, and community initiatives.
We designed this website to introduce you to the Lancaster Land Trust and familiarize you with the abundance of ecological, historical, and cultural resources in Lancaster and the Nashua Valley. We invite you to participate in our events and explore the public lands listed here, hoping that you will develop an even greater appreciation for Lancaster.
However, our work is not complete, and we still need to conserve land and resources. We appeal to you to support our ongoing efforts by joining us, lending a hand to this all-volunteer organization, or making a tax-deductible donation.
We appreciate your visit to our website and your contribution to our celebration of 24 years!
